The Frenchman put up great numbers last term and he has posted impressive stats again this campaign, even while spending plenty of time on the sidelines with injuries.
His performances led to interest from many teams around Europe including Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
But it was big-spending Chelsea who were able to strike a deal for Nkunku and they are now awaiting his arrival.

Is Christopher Nkunku joining Chelsea?
Nkunku will be joining Chelsea this summer.
The 25-year-old has already agreed a pre-contract deal with the Blues ahead of a move to the Premier League.
The deal is reported to be worth over £50million as Todd Boehly continues his incredible spending at the club.

Chelsea are yet to formally announce the transfer but it is widely reported that the deal will be completed at the end of the season.
The lack of confirmation had led to concerns over the deal but Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl told German outlet BILD: "The signs are very, very clear that he's moving to Chelsea."
A potential issue for the Blues is that Nkunku has had injury issues since before the World Cup after a ligament injury saw him miss out on the tournament in Qatar.

He made his return to action recently but has now picked up another knock that will force him to sit out of Leipzig's Champions League round of 16 second-leg clash against Manchester City.
So Chelsea will have their fingers crossed that Nkunku will be fully fit when his transfer to the Premier League is confirmed.
