Celtic thrash Rangers as Abada dedicates goal to fan who died doing viral challenge

The 14-year-old was found dead in his bedroom by his mum after taking part in the dangerous viral Blackout Challenge.

Abada, who was leading the line for Ange Postecoglou's side, gave Celtic the lead against their fierce rivals after just eight minutes when he squeezed the ball home from inside the penalty area.

In a raucous Parkhead atmosphere, Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side looked utterly shell-shocked, and conceded another after the half-hour mark when Jota clipped a sublime effort over Jon McLaughlin in the Rangers goal.

With Gers hoping that they could hold on until half-time, things went from bad to worse when Abada struck again.

The ball was played into the box and found the 20-year-old Israeli attacker who hit an effort low and hard towards goal, sending it through McLaughlin's legs and into the back of the net to make it 3-0 at the break.

David Turnbull added a fourth on 78 minutes after a mix-up at the back for Rangers to send the Hoops four points clear at the top of the table.

As well as falling away in the title race, the 4-0 scoreline will be a huge warning sign for Van Bronckhorst's side.

With a huge Champions League clash against Ajax coming up midweek, the hope for supporters will be that they can bounce back with a huge performance against the Dutch giants.
