Celtic stars troll Rangers at the darts with taunting messages about cup final

The Bhoys claimed an enthralling win over their Old Firm rivals at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Celtic edged it 5-4 on penalties after a tense 3-3 draw after extra time.

And the party hasn't stopped since, with several of Brendan Rodgers' men celebrating in style by heading down to London.

A group of players were spotted at the Paddy Power PDC World Darts Championships at Alexandra Palace on Monday.

Greg Taylor, Arne Engels, Liam Scales, Adam Idah, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh were seen soaking up the atmosphere, fresh from lifting the trophy.

As is common practice at the darts, messages are scrawled on sheets handed out by the sponsors.

The Celtic players couldn't resist a bit of cheeky trolling of their rivals, poking fun at one of Rangers' pre-match rally cry.

A photo of James Tavernier lifting the trophy after last season's final was doing the rounds on social media ahead of this year's instalment.

The caption read: "Every man, woman, adult or child has their role to play tomorrow in that stadium. Bring your f****** dinner and keep us on top of the perch."

Understandably, Celtic social media didn't let it slide and neither did the players.

Along with a '119' sign, referring to Celtic now overtaking Rangers on the total number of honours, a 'bring your dinner' sign was spotted on the players' table.

Fans shared their delight in the group's sign online. One fan said: "Unreal patter."

Another saying: "No way did one of the Celtic players write bring your dinner."

"The bring your dinner card has to be Taylor's. Carter Vickers has the 119 sign and Scales's hair is in the first picture. 3rd seat across is Taylor. We should take it all back and start him," another said.

However, they didn't quite receive a hero's welcome in London.

The venue was heard chanting, 'Celtic get battered everywhere they go' when the crowd saw the Hoops stars.

It comes after Celtic supporters trolled Rangers fans with a takedown of their Donald Trump-style banner in the Europa League match against Tottenham at Ibrox.

Rangers fans had held aloft a banner across the length of the Copland Stand with the words: "Make Rangers Great Again."

The players have been given some downtime to enjoy their big win as they don't have any midweek games coming up.

Celtic return to action on Saturday when they face Dundee United at Tannadice.
