Celtic booed off after draw against Dundee leaves them six points behind Rangers

Rangers ended Celtic's nine-year Scottish Premiership winning streak last season, with Steven Gerrard guiding the side to a first league title since 2011.

The defeat led Celtic to plenty of soul-searching, which resulted in the firing of five-time league-winning manager Neil Lennon.

Greek-Australian manager Ange Postecoglou was named as the Glasgow side's new boss, with supporters quickly questioning his credentials.

And those same fans have had their say again today, with Celtic falling behind early in the title race after another disappointing result.

The players were booed off at full-time as an early opener from Liel Abada was wiped out by Dundee's Ian Harkes two minutes later, securing his side's first point at Parkhead since 2011.

Postecoglou fronted up post-game, opting to take the pressure off his squad.

"Sometimes as a manager, you've just got to take the responsibility for the result away from the players," he said.

"The players gave everything today, we created enough chances to win comfortably and it wasn't for the want of trying, we hit the crossbar three or four times.

"From that perspective, the players will be fired up for Thursday and we just need to let them recover now and freshen them up."

Celtic outshot their opponents 22 to 12 in the game, striking the frame of the goal three times.

Postecoglou opted to look at the positives following the draw, whilst referring to injuries in his squad.

"I'm disappointed for the lads, we created enough chances to win a couple of games," he said.

"Unfortunately they didn't go in for us today, the players tried awfully hard but it wasn't to be.

"Even at the end we were still creating chances, good chances.

"We couldn't really change it up from the bench but we were still threatening going forward as we tried to get that second goal to break them open, but it didn't come."
