Having struggled for game time under coach Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has said he will speak to the Italian before deciding his future.
The Spanish star, who had previously spent time on loan at Premier League club Arsenal, revealed that Ancelotti even apologised to him for his lack of game time.
"When we start [pre-season on July 8], we will see," Ceballos explained to Tito Gonzalez.
"I'll talk to the coach to see what he wants and from there we'll decide the future."
Regarding his performances last season, the player revealed that Ancelotti had asked for his forgiveness much to the player's delight.
"The coach told me to forgive him because I hadn't played the minutes I should have played, and that's to his credit," Ceballos said.
Ceballos only played 338 minutes in 18 games all season, although his importance to the team grew towards the end of the 2021/22 season.
Ancelotti believes Ceballos deserved to play more
In April, it was Ancelotti himself who acknowledged in a press conference that Ceballos was not given the chances he deserved.
"Ceballos has not played the minutes he deserved based on his training sessions," Ancelotti said during a press conference.
"He is one of the few who has played less than he deserves. He has suffered a lot, a season with problems, with the injury and a fairly slow recovery."
Juan Miranda: I hope Dani Ceballos comes to Betis
Ceballos, whose contract with Real Madrid ends in 2023, has also garnered interest from Real Betis.
Betis player Juan Miranda has been trying to convince Ceballos to join Los Verdiblancos.
"My offer of a house in Olivares has already been made.... I can't do any more!" joked Juan Miranda to Cuatro about the possibility of Ceballos signing for Betis.
"I hope that in the future Ceballos will come to Betis."
