Carragher applauds Richarlison "s***housery" after telling pundit to "cry more"

Brazil international Richarlison was criticised for showboating during Tottenham's 2-0 Premier League win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon Jamie Carragher was on the receiving end of Richarlison's "s***housery"

Are you thinking about a career in football punditry? Well if so, please remember not to trigger Richarlison on social media.

The Tottenham forward, 25, has rinsed Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher and his former teammate Dietmar Hamann on Twitter after the two pundits questioned his showboating on Sunday afternoon - with the latter being told the "cry more" by the Brazilian.

Richarlison came under fire after doing kick-ups during Tottenham's 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Forest players were not impressed with his antics as Brennan Johnson cut the 36-cap international in half with a brutal late challenge.

Richarlison has been accused of being disrespectful by Forest manager Steve Cooper and several pundits on Sunday evening. Spurs boss Antonio Conte has rejected these claims, insisting the player would not want to insult the two-time European champions.

The row continued into Monday when Carragher gave his opinion on Richarlison's showboating. "It doesn't matter what we all think of the Richarlison showboating, it's what the opposition think," tweeted Carragher.

"They thought it was taking the p*** and tried to take him out. You can't condone that but the worst that happens is a red card, for Spurs it's a bad injury. That's why it's daft."

What do you make of Richarlison's antics? Let us know in the comments below!

After seeing Carragher's tweet, Richarlison was keen to break the ice with the ex-defender. He tweeted a clip of the incident with a comical laugh being played over the moment when Johnson puts him on the deck - leaving fans on social media in stitches.

Carragher also saw the funny side of Richarlison's response. "This is the type of s***housery I can get fully behind!" he tweeted, accompanied by laughing emojis.

Richarlison's reply to Hamman's tweet was even more savage. "Nothing to do with showboating," wrote Hamman. "[Richarlison] should have been booked for unsportsmanlike conduct and restarted with [a] free kick to Forest."

On seeing Hamman's tweet, Richarlison replied: "Cry more" - with a crying emoji.

Richarlison has a reputation for cracking a joke on social media. After Liverpool lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid in Paris, the forward - then of Everton - posted a photoshopped picture of himself driving a coach. It was a reference to a Liverpool fan coach that never showed up, with Everton fans calling the driver "Richard Arlison".

Although many are laughing at Richarlison's antics, Cooper isn't. "I would not want my players to do that - what Richarlison did," raged Cooper. "But if that is acceptable at Spurs, it is nothing to do with me. But it would not be accepted here, that is for sure."

Conte replied: "I think he juggled with the ball. It is a game and you are under pressure. I repeat it is OK. I don't think Richy wanted to show disrespect to Nottingham Forest. Forest are a really good team with a great history in football and we have a great respect. Richy for sure thinks in the same way. Not disrespectful for anyone and I can tell you this."
