Despite expressing his desire to retire, Warnock was named as Middlesbrough boss in June 2020, replacing Jonathan Woodgate and tasked with helping the club to avoid relegation with eight games of the season remaining.
Warnock managed to do exactly that, before being offered the job on a permanent basis and staying until November 2021.

While the 74-year-old confirmed his retirement after leaving the Riverside Stadium, it remains to be seen whether he can be tempted back to one of his favourite clubs to help them in their hour of need.
