Burnley transfer target achieved feat Messi and Ronaldo could not and stunned Spurs

The Croatia winger is being heavily linked with a move to Burnley and their fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of his arrival.

He's already humiliated Tottenham and stunned West Ham producing sensational displays against Premier League opposition.

Currently playing his trade with Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb, Orsic has showcased his talents on many occasions, both domestically and on the European stage.

None more so than in the Champions League, when he produced a remarkable achievement that two of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo and Messi, could not.

On his debut in the group stages of Europe's premier competition in 2019, not only did the 29-year-old find the back of the net against Serie A side Atalanta, he took home the match ball.

Orsic isn't a player to be sniffed at and Jose Mourinho even warned his Spurs stars about him before the second leg of their round of 16 clash in March 2021.

Leading 2-0 from the first leg, Tottenham were heading to Croatia in a very strong position.

Even after the first half, with the score being goalless at the break, Mourinho's side were looking good for a place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

However, Orsic had other ideas and in the space of 20 second half minutes, had wiped out Spurs' advantage and sent the tie into extra time.

With a brace under his belt, and Spurs on the ropes, the winger completed the incredible comeback and in turn, securing another match ball in a European competition.

Mourinho was quick to lament his players' inability to heed his warnings about Orsic's talents.

He fumed: "The first thing I tell you, which you can believe or not believe. My players they watch and watch and watch Orsic actions during his career.

"That is the only thing I can say. I prepared my players to play against Orsic, I gave them all information to play against him and that is the only thing I can say."

Having been given a taste of scoring against Premier League opposition once, Orsic was keen to extend his record again.

The Croatia star showcased his incredible shooting ability against West Ham in the group stages of this season's Europa League by cutting in from the left wing before smashing the ball into the top right corner of the goal.

Given that the Hammers are 'massive', it was an incredible goal to down David Moyes' side, and a crucial one too, as it secured Zagreb's place in the knockout stages of the competition.

With experience of playing, and outclassing, English opposition, Orsic's proposed move to Burnley looks to be a very exciting one for Clarets fans.

Given the club's current predicament, having won just once in the league this season Croatian's impact will be vital if Sean Dyche's side are to remain in the Premier League.
