The Bees striker slotted home his first home Premier League of the season to help his side secure a 1-0 win against Everton.
A cool spot-kick by Toney in the 24th minute gave the Bees a first home league win since the opening day and it felt inevitable the forward would have a say on the game after Rafael Benitez had been his manager for the majority of his time at Newcastle where he was given limited opportunities.
The hosts had not won in the Premier League since the start of October, but they took the lead from 12 yards.
Andros Townsend was the guilty party with his high boot catching Frank Onyeka in the face, but referee Darren England had allowed play to continue before VAR intervened and called on the official to use the pitchside monitor to review the incident.
Once the spot-kick was given, Toney made no mistake from 12 yards and sent goalkeeper Jordan Pickford the wrong way following a trademark laid-back run-up to extend his penalty record to 19 scored out of 20 efforts.
The striker has scored all 13 penalties he has taken at Brentford and now has 22 goals in 38 appearances since January 30 (nine of which came from the spot).
Despite the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Jorginho and Robert Lewandowski all being lethal penalty takers, Frank insists his main man is the world's best.
"Think of the law of statistics," Frank said to talkSPORT. "There will be one time that you miss a penalty.
"But let's say that is way, way, way, way out in the future. He is the world's best penalty taker, no doubt about that.
"He is the world's best penalty taker and the best thing is, he is practicing it. So it is not by coincidence or luck, he is practicing it every single day and that was big today, three points."
