The Bees are looking to strengthen their squad during the summer in order to build on a successful debut campaign in the Premier League last season, in which they finished in a comfortable 13th place following a strong run of form in the latter stages.
One area that manager Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen is the goalkeeping department, with number one David Raya not receiving enough competition from the likes of Alvaro Fernandez and Jonas Lossl last season.
The latter will return to parent club FC Midtjylland upon the end of his loan spell on June 30, whilst the former struggled with form when deputising for the injured Raya during stages of the season, which coincided with Brentford's dip in results.
Fernandez will also return to his parent club in the coming weeks - Huesca - which leaves Raya and inexperienced Ellery Balcombe as the only senior goalkeepers at the Brentford Community Stadium ahead of the new season as things stand.
One shot stopper that is said to be interesting the Premier League outfit is Flekken, according to The Sun, who enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 campaign with Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.
The report suggests that the current valuation for the 29-year-old is too high, but should that price fall below the £10m mark, Brentford will be willing to pursue a deal.
Flekken kept 10 clean sheets in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, which saw Freiburg narrowly miss out on a Champions League place and also enjoy a run to the final of the DFB-Pokal for the first time in their history.
