Lewandowski grabbed a brace as Bayern put the rest of the Champions League field on notice with a commanding 3-0 win at Barcelona on Matchday 1. The European Golden Shoe winner has now scored seven times across his last five Champions League outings, and already has 11 goals in eight competitive appearances so far this term. His 18-match scoring streak came to an end against Greuther Fürth on Friday, but Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich picked up the tab to help Julian Nagelsmann's side to a 3-1 win. The record champions prevailed for the eighth game in a row, despite Benjamin Pavard's second-half red card. The Frenchman is nevertheless expected to retain his place in the starting XI, ahead of a mandatory domestic ban. Alphonso Davies, meanwhile, should line up on the opposing side after playing the full 90 minutes against Fürth as an attacking winger. One from Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala and Marcel Sabitzer is set to come in.
No matter who Nagelsmann plumps for, it promises to be a testing night for Kyiv. The regining Ukrainan champions are unbeaten in the league this season, but suffered a comprehensive 3-0 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Super Cup and were a touch fortunate to hold Benfica to a goalless draw in their Group E opener. Although Dynamo beat Bayern in the 1975 European Super Cup, their Champions League record pales in comparision. This is the first time Dynamo have qualified automatically for the groups since 2016/17, while six-time winners Bayern have reached the quarter-finals or better in nine of the last 10 seasons. Kyiv have also lost four on the spin in Munich, including the decisive 1998/98 semi-final first leg at the old Olympic Stadium. Even in-form winger and talisman Viktor Tsyhankov - with seven goals in nine matches so far this term - will struggle to avert a fifth successive defeat at the home of Germany's most successful club.
