Schick made his comeback from injury following a three-game absence in the 3-1 win at RB Leipzig on Sunday and will be pushing for another start here. The Czech forward is Leverkusen's leading scorer this season with eight goals, and has only failed to find the net in three Bundesliga appearances in 2021/22. He will be supported by in-form attacking midfielders Florian Wirtz (five goals, six assists) and Moussa Diaby (five goals, three assists) as Die Werkself seek to extend a five-game unbeaten streak in all competitions - a run that has seen them climb back into the top three of the Bundesliga table. Charles Aranguiz and Lucas Alario are both in contention to feature again after returning from injury in Leipzig, while Karim Bellarabi and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are potential options after returning to training, but Mitchel Bakker and Julian Baumgartlinger are all still out.

Fürth, meanwhile, come into the game intent on picking themselves up after another heavy defeat. The Clover Leaves came off on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline at home to Hoffenheim last time out. Still without a win this season and just a single point on the board after 13 matches, Stefan Leitl's side have it all to do if they are to claw their way off the foot of the table. Easier said than done, of course, especially with a defence that has conceded a league-high 39 times already, but Timothy Tillman, Branimir Hrgota and Jamie Leweling were all on the scoresheet against Hoffenheim and have shown enough menace to keep Leverkusen on their toes. Justin Hoogma, Gideon Jung and Nick Viergever are all still absent, however, to add to those defensive issues.

Wirtz has scored five times from 20 shots on goal across 11 Bundesliga appearances this season, whilst registering six assists.

Diaby also has five goals, but it's Schick who leads the club scoring charts with eight. Only Robert Lewandowski (14) and Erling Haaland (10) have scored more in this season's Bundesliga.

Fürth's top scorer Hrgota is without a goal in seven career meetings with Leverkusen.
