With just two wins from their last 10 in the league - five of which have been defeats - Augsburg are precariously placed with 11 games of the campaign to go. They go into Matchday 24 sitting in the promotion/relegation playoff place of 16th, just three points clear of automatic relegation. Defeat to Freiburg last time out was their third loss in four and Markus Weinzierl knows his team need to start putting a run of form together if they're to pull clear of the bottom-three. Robert Gumny and Tobias Strobl remain sidelined, while Andre Hahn's suspension means Daniel Caligiuri should come in on the right of midfield. Ricardo Pepi is expected to start from the bench again, with Michael Gregoritsch - who scored against Freiburg - and Florian Niederlechner preferred in attack in recent weeks.
Haaland did not travel to Scotland for Dortmund's 2-2 draw with Rangers in the UEFA Europa League in midweek and he now hasn't featured since Matchday 20. Dortmund did, though, prove that they can more than cop without their top-scorer when they dismantled Borussia Mönchengladbach last Sunday. Marco Reus (2x), Donyell Malen and Youssoufa Moukoko were all on target in that win, which will have delighted head coach Marco Rose who has called on his team to be more ruthless in Haaland's absence. Gio Reyna's latest injury setback in the Battle of the Borussias somewhat put a dampener on that otherwise perfect performance and Rose is still without a number of first team players. Thomas Meunier, Emre Can and Raphael Guerreiro picked up knocks in midweek, while Reus has also been ruled out.
