Aston Villa aim brutal dig at Wrexham and Ben Foster for comment on TikTok

The Villans were delighted to announce their latest summer recruit - Nicolo Zaniolo from Galatasaray on loan for the season.

The versatile Italian will add plenty of flair to Unai Emery's forward group, and had an announcement video to match the fanfare.

Making his way around the club's training ground, Zaniolo is captured with the backing music of Status Quo's Rockin' All Over the World.

And just as the 'I like it' phase out into 'here we go', the 24-year-old picks up the camera and says his name, "Nicolo Zaniolo," to complete the rhyme.

The Status Quo hit has been picked up by a number of teams, perhaps most famously Arsenal, who have changed the final lyrics to 'Saka and Emile Smith Rowe'.

Wrexham are another to have adopted the tune, and pointed it out on Villa's post.

"Super Ben Foster in goal?" wrote the official Wrexham account.

To which Villa rather oddly escalated things, writing: "Our keeper wins world cups, your keeper cycles to work," accompanied by a winking emoji.

The comment was referencing the cycling goalkeeper Foster who has a popular YouTube account and podcast.

He also regularly picks up his in-goal camera to film himself, much like Zaniolo does in the clip.

However, Wrexham likely weren't expecting such a brutal reply from a team three leagues above them, boasting about Argentine World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emi Martinez.

Drama seems to follow Wrexham wherever they go, with the club competing in League Two for the first time in 15 years.

They are the division's top scorers with 13 goals, while they have also conceded the most with 13.

They somehow snatched a point on Saturday after drawing 5-5 against Swindon - scoring twice in second half stoppage time.

Phil Parkinson's men were 4-1 down, but showed their fighting spirit to pick up their fifth point of the campaign.
