Arsenal 0-0 West Ham - Chance

3' - That's a good chance for Saka!

Odegaard does well to slip a pass into the box for the forward.

He takes a touch and curls a shot towards goal that Areola saves comfortably, but that should have been a better opportunity.

2' - First shot of the game goes the way of West Ham as Ward-Prowse fires over an effort from distance.

Nearly kick-off

Less than ten minutes to go until this one gets going.

Still no word on Lucas Paqueta, so he might give it a try, but he looked uncomfortable in the warm-up.

West Ham down to eighth

Brighton are currently 2-0 up against Tottenham, meaning West Ham are now down to eighth.

Paqueta limps off!

Well, this isn't good for West Ham.

Lucas Paqueta has just limped off the pitch, no word yet that he's out of the game, but it doesn't look good at all.

We will keep a very close eye on that one.

Arteta heaps praise on Rice

Mikel Arteta made it very clear that Declan Rice was his top target over the summer.

The Gunners went out and got their man, with the England international turning down Manchester City, and ahead of his first Premier League meeting with his old club, the Spaniard had nothing but praise for Rice.

Nice moment

Jorginho will be on the bench this evening, while Angelo Ogbonna starts for the Hammers and captains the side.

But they still had the chance to share a lovely moment.

Rice

Declan Rice was a huge player at West Ham for a long time.

He started out as a centre-back and became one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.

The England international then became captain and led the club to the Europa Conference League last season before joining Arsenal for £105million.

Since his move, he's been excellent for the Gunners.

Arsenal vs West Ham: Pre-match facts

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 12 home London derbies in the Premier League (W8 D4) since a 2-0 loss to Chelsea in August 2021. They've kept just one clean sheet in this run (2-0 v West Ham in December 2021), with both such matches this season finishing 2-2.

West Ham have won their final league game in just one of the last seven calendar years (D2 L4), winning 4-1 at Watford in 2021. They've lost on the last four occasions they've finished the year with a London derby, since beating Charlton Athletic 5-0 in 2000.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 13 home games in all competitions (W11 D2) since a 3-0 loss to Brighton in May. The Gunners have won their last seven at the Emirates Stadium by an aggregate score of 21-2.

Moyes delighted with progress

David Moyes is extremely pleased with how West Ham are doing this season.

They are doing well in Europe and are sitting in the top seven in the Premier League.

There have definitely been a few performances that haven't warranted the results, but overall, the Irons are doing well.

Arsenal vs West Ham: Team news

Right, so Kai Havertz is banned and Leandro Trossard comes in for him on the left side of the midfield trio.

But apart from that, they are unchanged from the Liverpool draw.

For West Ham, there is a huge blow as Kurt Zouma is absent.

The defender was brilliant against Manchester United and is arguably the Irons' best centre-back.

Nayef Aguerd is still ill, so Angelo Ogbonna comes into the team.

Star man Kudus

Mohammed Kudus is quickly adapting to life in the Premier League.

He scored his sixth league goal of the season before Christmas against Manchester United in a 2-0 win.

He was a constant menace on the right and worked hard for his team defensively.

The winger is a top player, and he will be looking to make an impact here.

The Emirates is ready

The Emirates is a much happier place these days under Mikel Arteta.

Gunners fans are enjoying watching their side, and they should be right up for it tonight.

Meanwhile, Hammers supporters will hope for a better display than their last away game, a 5-1 thrashing by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal vs West Ham: Pre-match facts

Arsenal have won 12 of their last 13 Premier League home games against West Ham, with the exception being a 2-0 loss on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 campaign.

After winning three consecutive league games against Arsenal between February 2006 and April 2007, West Ham have won now just two of their last 30 against the Gunners (D6 L22).

Against no side have West Ham lost more Premier League games than they have against Arsenal (35, same as against Liverpool), while Arsenal only have more wins in the competition against Everton (37).

How it stands

This game sees two of the league's best teams this season meet, and there is plenty on the line for both.

A win for Arsenal would take them back to the top of the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Hammers can jump up to sixth.
