Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega - who was named as standby for Germany's UEFA Euro 2020 squad - will need to be at his best again if the league's 17th-placed team are to repeat their feat from two weeks ago and win. The 1-0 victory away at VfB Stuttgart is their only success of the season, but they are still only two points from safety, and one behind Augsburg in the relegation play-off spot. Injuries have rarely an issue for Frank Kramer, but Patrick Wimmer, who assisted fellow wide man Masaya Okugawa winner last time out, will play with face mask - if at all - following a broken nose.
Things were less settled at Wolfsburg of late with Mark van Bommel replaced by Florian Kohfeldt as coach. The former Werder Bremen man has since won all three competitive fixtures in charge, with Nmecha scoring in each of them. That included the winning goal last time out as the Wolves edged past Augsburg. The 22-year-old now returns to club action as a full Germany international having earned his first two senior caps over the break. Maxence Lacroix remains suspended while Sebastiaan Bornauw has an ankle injury, so Dutch youngster Micky van de Ven could slot into the newly formed back three alongside Josuha Guilavogui and John Brooks. Yannick Gerhardt has been playing in a more advanced role in this setup, but impressive teenager Aster Vranckx remains a doubt with a muscle strain.
Match stats
Despite Okugawa's second goal of the season, Bielefeld remain the lowest scorers in this season's Bundesliga (seven).
In contrast, Arminia are the hardest-running team in the division (74.4 miles/119.8 kilometres per game).
Bielefeld haven't won back-to-back Bundesliga matches since early 2007. That's also the year they last took points off Wolfsburg, in a 3-1 win.
Nmecha's scored in every game under Kohfeldt, and is Wolfsburg's top scorer in all competitions this season (six, including four in the Bundesliga).
Kohfeldt can become the first Wolfsburg coach since their promotion in 1992 to win his first four competitive games at the helm. Three straight Bundesliga clean sheets to start a tenure would also represent a club first.
Wolfsburg have won their last six competitive meetings with Bielefeld, five in the Bundesliga among them.
