The rage started after the World Cup final where Rami was critical of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's antics after the match.

He made a vulgar gesture after winning the Golden Glove and held a doll with Kylian Mbappe's face on it as they celebrated in the streets of Argentine.
Rami lost patience with Martinez and described the Aston Villa goalkeeper as 'the biggest s*** in football', after which Juventus' winger Di Maria came to the goalkeeper's defence.
Rami then claimed Martinez was the 'most hated man' in football, to which Di Maria responded: "El Dibu (Martinez) is the best goalkeeper in the world. Go cry elsewhere."

The former France defender then responded again, tweeting, "Can you teach me?" showing four pictures of Di Maria himself crying with the captions: 'When you lose', 'when you win', 'when you leave a club', 'when you see this tweet'.
Now, though, Di Maria's wife Jorgelina Cardoso has hit back at Rami's comments and brought up the former French defender's past.
"Angel can teach you how to cry, how to handle a woman and how to score a goals in finals! Happy new year genius," she posted on her Instagram story in both French and Spanish.

The story included recent headlines that covered Rami and Di Maria, which showed the Argentine in good light while it covered the French defender more negatively, especially his past relationships.
This was in reference to Rami's past dating history, as he was previously in a relationship with actress Pamela Anderson.
The war of words has gone on for a while, long after the World Cup final between France and Argentina ended and it doesn't look like stopping soon as many football figures chime in on Martinez's antics.
