Referee Genc Nuza then appeared to encourage Jonny Hayes to run over to the Aberdeen fans and tell them to stop.

With the snow still falling, reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt said a tannoy announcement hinted the game could be abandoned if it continued.

Even Aberdeen forward Duk appeared frustrated with the fans and play eventually got back underway at the Bolt Arena.

A 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Helsinki, with PAOK Salonika then beating them 3-2.

The group leaders were held by Aberdeen in the reverse fixture and the latter then secured their third draw on Thursday night.

Despite their efforts, they will not progress to the knockout stages next year as they can only finish third or fourth in the group.

Aberdeen's focus will now switch back to Scottish Premiership action as they sit tenth out of 12 after a poor start to the season.
