A humiliating hammering on home soil to rivals Liverpool has put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on some very dodgy ground at Old Trafford.
Manchester United's capitulation to Jurgen Klopp's men laid bare the stark chasm between the sides, with the 5-0 score line heaping pressure on the Red Devils' boss.
Solskjaer cut an angry, disconsolate figure on the touchline as Mohamed Salah and co put his team to the sword.
But it's not just the Norwegian who could be facing trouble ahead, as there are several players Solskjaer "doesn't trust", while others are failing to pull their weight.
With a tough run of games to come, including trips to Tottenham, Atalanta and Chelsea, as well as the visit of Manchester City, in the words of Solskjaer himself, "something has to give."
Here Mirror Football looks at five players who could be facing the axe, either in the short or long term, as their manager walks a precarious tightrope.

Paul Pogba
It goes without saying, really, after Pogba completely lost his head just 15 minutes after coming on to reduce his team to 10 men.
His omission from the starting XI was indicative of Solskjaer's faith in the Frenchman, who continually fails to live up to expectations.
United's defeat at Leicester proved to be the final straw, with Pogba then dropped for the Atalanta clash in midweek.
Pogba did make a difference off the bench that day, but it was a different kind of impact he had against Liverpool, and one which has the daggers out for him once again.

Ex-United legend Paul Scholes even feels it should be the last time Pogba gets to pull on a red shirt.
"He's caused mayhem over the last couple of years," Scholes ranted to Premier League Productions. "Everybody knows what a talent he is, everybody trusts him, every manager trusts him, tried to give him his head and let him be the player he's been.
"But with all the commotion, not signing his contract, almost holding the club to ransom, and then he comes on and does something like that.
"Look, he probably will play [again] won't he? But I don't think they will be missing anything if he doesn't."
Harry Maguire

While few can question Maguire's dedication to the cause, the United skipper's performances have been dismal in recent weeks.
The centre-back has struggled on his return to the team after an injury, with Solskjaer even conceding he may have rushed his captain back too quickly for the loss at Leicester.
A goal against Atalanta perhaps masked what was some suspect defending earlier on in the game, and Maguire looked particularly leggy against Liverpool as he was given a torrid time by the opposition forwards.
Solskjaer simply cannot afford any more slip ups to come, so may now be considering the benefit of a change in his back line - even with Raphael Varane sidelined as well.
Speaking on Sky Sports after United's demoralising defeat, Neville said: "Harry Maguire's not doing anything, he's not doing anything at the moment.
"I said last week he shouldn't have played, he's nowhere near it out there. He's got to get himself fit and get his own performance right."
Mason Greenwood

Comfortably one of United's best performers this season, the youngster has been in scintillating form in front of goal.
But he was another of the targets for Scholes' fury after his "cheating" during the Liverpool defeat.
"You think about Mason in that first instance going to close him down, that was almost cheating," Scholes said. "He knew he wasn't going to get the ball and he knew it looks like he was going to close him down but he knew he was just going to pass it and he can't do anything.
"It's almost a cheating way of sprinting to him, they pass it and then he has a little walk back because he thought, 'I've done my bit'.
"But he hasn't done his bit, he's ruined the whole team, all the team get pulled out of position."
Scholes also blasted Greenwood for "not doing his job properly" as the teenager was hauled off at half-time.
Solskjaer must now be weighing up a more industrious option on the right for the next fixture, while giving Greenwood a rest may be a wise decision.
Jesse Lingard is still desperate for minutes, and with Jadon Sancho struggling, United could do a lot worse than give the academy graduate a run out.
Nemanja Matic

Previously regarded as a big-game player, it seems Matic may now be on borrowed time at United as Solskjaer continues to back his preferred duo 'McFred'.
Matic has been largely used as a substitute so far this season and has only been on the winning side once in his four starts.
It's looking likely he will leave the club in the near future - either in January or come the end of the season.

Donny van de Beek

The Dutchman's Old Trafford spell has become a complete farce less than 18 months on from his £40million move.
Not only has van de Beek barely played, but his manager has completely gone against what he seems to have promised, after the player's agent revealed they had assurances over game time coming into the new campaign.
It's pretty much obvious now that Solskjaer just doesn't rate van de Beek, let alone trust him.
He's made just three appearances this season - once as a late sub in the win over Newcastle and twice as a starter on the losing side in the disappointing defeats to Young Boys and West Ham.
This looks like a situation which should - and probably will - be resolved in January.
Whether Solskjaer is still around is another matter.
