We're into the final fortnight of the transfer window but there is still a lot of ground to be made if Manchester City want to unveil Harry Kane as their player before the deadline passes.
City have reportedly lodged an improved bid worth £125million, but Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is still standing firm over his valuation of their star striker.
Kane has now held showdown talks with boss Nuno Espirito Santo in a bid to clear the air, as Tottenham left for Portugal without him as he prepares to be involved for the weekend clash at Wolves.
Meanwhile Arsenal look close to adding two more signings to their squad as deals for Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale have been agreed.

Spurs keen on Zouma
Kurt Zouma is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Sky Sports.
They report that the centre-back's preference is to stay in London amid interest from West Ham.
It is believed the 26-year-old's sale would fund a move for Sevilla's Jules Kounde.
Zouma played just over an hour in Chelsea's UEFA Super Cup win over penalties as the Blues beat Villarreal on penalties, but spent the weekend win on the bench.

The Sun report Kane met with Nuno at Spurs' training ground for breakfast ahead of the squad's trip to Portugal, for which the England international has been omitted.
This one shows no signs of being resolved anytime soon...

Chelsea are still keen on Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.

Swansea keen on Watford's Gray
New Swansea boss Russell Martin is keen on Watford's out of favour Andre Gray.
The Swans and West Brom have both been linked with a move for the Jamaica international who has been tipped to replace Andre Ayew in south Wales.
"Andre Gray is a great player who has done fantastically well at this level. I have played against him many times and I know how tough a character he is to play against," said Martin.
"He is just one of a number of players we will be linked with between now and the end of the transfer window. f he ever comes into this building then we can talk about him then.
"We've had several meetings on the type of players we want and we are getting clearer on the players we need for certain positions. There will be movement and action on that in the next few weeks."

Wolves rule out Ruben Semedo move
Wolves have ruled out a move for bad-boy Olympiakos defender Ruben Semedo.
The Molineux club think they wouldn't be able to get a work permit for the Portuguese stopper, age 27.
Last year Semedo, while on Villarreal's books, was handed a five-year suspended prison sentence in Spain after confessing to robbery, assault, kidnapping and possession of a firearm.
He was subsequently banned from visiting Spain for eight years.

Will Odegaard play on Sunday?
Arsenal hope to confirm the £30million signing of Martin Odegaard within the next few days.
The Gunners are aiming to have the 22-year-old playmaker registered by midday on Friday, so that he is available for Sunday's game against Chelsea.
Odegaard is understood to be fully vaccinated, meaning he would not have to quarantine.
Odegaard, who joined Real Madrid in 2015, made 20 loan appearances and scored two goals in all competitions for Mikel Arteta's side last season.
The Norway international has made just eight league appearances for Spanish giants Real. He has also been on loan at Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad before the spell with Arsenal.
The deal is thought to be worth an initial £30m, which could rise to £34m.
Odegaard would join Ben White, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares as the Spaniard's signings this summer. Arsenal are still pushing for a deal for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who wants a move to the Emirates.
The Blades want around £35million but Arsenal are believed to be making progress on a structured deal with around £25million including add-ons.

Everton's cheeky bid for Barcelona's Umtiti
Everton have made a cheeky enquiry for Samuel Umtiti.
The Barcelona centre-back, who lifted the World Cup with France in 2018, is among a string of big-name stars the Spanish giants want to offload to ease their financial crisis.
Umtiti, 27, has already rejected a number of approaches as he is keen to continue playing Champions League football at a big club.
While Everton are also keen to get a string of high-earning flops off their wage bill, the Toffees are also hunting a stellar defensive name they think could solve their problems at the back and help them to achieve their aim of European football.
