Liverpool have agreed an initial £64million transfer fee with Benfica for Darwin Nunez and the biggest deal of the summer of so far could be completed as early as Monday.
Yet the Reds aren't the only Premier League side in the market. Manchester United were also keen on Nunez as Erik ten Hag looks to make an impact at Old Trafford with several reinforcements needed.
They are ready to join the race for Robert Lewandowski with Chelsea also in the mix, although they need to offload Romelu Lukaku and add new faces to their backline following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The centre-back, 23, made 44 appearances for Sevilla last season and has 10 senior caps for France, winning the Nations League last October.

Liverpool agree Nunez transfer fee
Liverpool have reached an agreement with Benfica to sign Darwin Nunez.
The Portuguese giants have officially announced the two clubs have agreed a €75million (around £64m) transfer fee for the Uruguayan forward, 22, with the figure rising to €100m (around £85.3m) with add-ons.
The fee was agreed in the early hours of Monday morning and Liverpool are yet to announce the news.
The transfer is now expected to be completed and announced on Monday.
