Sunday's Primeira Liga predictions including Gil Vicente vs. Braga

Nacional vs. Farense (Sunday, 3.30pm)

Nacional and SC Farense will be seeking to secure their first win of the 2024-25 Primeira Liga campaign when they square off at the Estadio da Madeira on Sunday.

This will be the first top-flight meeting between the two sides since February 2021, when the visitors secured a 3-2 victory thanks to strikes from Andre Pinto, Ryan Gauld and an own goal from Pedro Mendes.

Two teams with just one win from their opening three games collide when Rio Ave host Arouca in the Primeira Liga on Sunday.

The hosts have already had to face Porto and Sporting Lisbon in their opening matches, while the visitors will be looking for their first away league win since April.

We say: Rio Ave 1-2 Arouca

This could be a close battle between two teams who are yet to get firing this season, but with the number of chances that Rio Ave are giving to their opponents in these opening games, Arouca could capitalise on these frailties if they take their chances.

Guimaraes vs. Famalicao (Sunday, 8.30pm)

Fast-starting Famalicao will look to maintain their impressive early momentum in the Primeira Liga when they head to Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques to take on Vitoria de Guimaraes this weekend.

The hosts are in sixth place in the league standings with six points after the first three games of the new season, while the visitors are third with a perfect three wins in three top-flight matches in 2024-25.

We say: Vitoria de Guimaraes 2-1 Famalicao

While both these sides have made very impressive starts to the league campaign, Vitoria's soild home record is difficult to ignore, and we feel they will be able to hand Fama their first loss of the new season in this one.

Gil Vicente vs. Braga (Sunday, 8.30pm)

Fresh off the back of securing their spot in the Europa League, Braga journey to the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos to take on Gil Vicente in round four of the Primeira Liga on Sunday.

The hosts have failed to win any of the last four meetings between the two sides since, losing three and claiming one draw, and will head into the weekend looking to get one over Os Arcebispos.

We say: Gil Vicente 1-3 Braga

With the thrill from securing Europa League football still in the air, Braga will head into the weekend in high spirits and they look to maintain their solid early-season form. While we expect Gil Vicente to put up a fight, we are tipping Os Arcebispos to come away with a narrow victory.
