Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has insisted in recent weeks that he requires additions to improve his lacklustre side.
The Italian's arrival has seen an upturn in the club's league form but poor cup displays against NS Mura, Chelsea, and Morecambe have disappointed.
And now Tottenham appear ready to make their first move in the January transfer window with the Spain international their top target.
talkSPORT's football correspondent Alex Crook told White and Jordan: "In terms of incomings, we spoke a week or so ago about Spurs reviving their interest in Adama Traore at Wolves.
"I don't think a formal bid now is too far away, Traore will cost in the region of £20million.
"Antonio Conte interestingly plans to use him as a wing-back much like he did with Victor Moses when Chelsea won the league title."
And as Conte is looks to improve this squad he's also set to shift several unwanted stars.
talkSPORT also understands Tanguy Ndombele, Matt Doherty and Steven Bergwijn are all set to be moved on.
Club-record signing Ndombele was booed for failing to leave the pitch quickly against Morecombe in their third round FA Cup win.
Having wanted to leave the club last summer he may now get his wish this January.
And Crook claims that the club are seeking to find the Frenchman a new club and are looking to offload Doherty and Bergwijn as well.
"His days do look numbered, Spurs actively hawking him around including to his former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma," he added.
"Steven Bergwijn and Matt Doherty could also leave this window."
