Sofyan Amrabat posts cryptic Instagram message as he pushes for Barcelona transfer

The midfielder took everyone by surprise at the 2022 World Cup, going toe-to-toe with the football elite to help his side reach the semi-finals.

His brother Nordin Amrabat - who previously played for Watford - suggested that some of Europe's biggest clubs will have 'woken up' to his talent after his impressive displays at at Qatar 2022.

And now, LaLiga leaders Barcelona want to sign him on loan before the window shuts.

However, the deal is reportedly being blocked by his current club Fiorentina - prompting the star to post a cryptic Instagram story.

"Go for it now," the quote he posted said. "The future is promised to no one."

Barca's proposal includes an option to buy him for £35million, according to football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

That sum reportedly comprises of a £2.64m loan fee with an option to buy him worth £32.5m

Fiorentina, though, are 'not accepting these conditions', leading to the midfielder missing training as a result.

Should Barca get a deal over the line for Amrabat, he would be their first signing of the January window, as the club have been restricted due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

And Barcelona coach Xavi is reportedly keen on the move as it would give him another midfield option to cover veteran Sergio Busquets.

If Fiorentina budge on their current position, Amrabat's long-term admirers Liverpool will miss out on him.

The midfielder was tipped for a summer move to Anfield, with French outlet Foot Mercato reporting manager Jurgen Klopp met with Amrabat's representatives as he looked to secure his services in December.

The Reds are still in desperate need for fresh midfield reinforcements, having lost out on key target Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid in the summer.
