Real Betis confirm travelling squad for Manchester United clash

Manuel Pellegrini's side will enter the contest at Old Trafford off the back off a goalless draw at home to Real Madrid on Sunday, with the result leaving them fifth in the La Liga table.

The Green and Whites are now unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions, and they will be boosted by the return of Sergio Canales for Thursday's contest in Manchester.

Canales has missed Real Betis' last two La Liga matches due to the injury that he picked up in the 2-1 success over Real Valladolid in the middle of February.

However, the 32-year-old, who has scored six goals and registered two assists in 28 appearances in all competitions this term, is in the squad for the European clash at Old Trafford.

William Carvalho will be suspended in the league against Villarreal on Sunday due to the booking that he picked up against Real Madrid, but the Portugal international is available for this match.

Juan Cruz is out with a hamstring problem, though, while the standout absentee is Nabil Fekir.

The Frenchman, who has recently been linked with a switch to Man United, will be out for the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury.

Fekir has recently undergone an operation, and his absence is a blow for Pellegrini's team considering that he has contributed six goals and three assists in 20 appearances this term, including two goals in the Europa League.

Borja Iglesias is the team's leading goalscorer in all competitions this season, finding the back of the net on 10 occasions in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Claudio Bravo, formerly of Manchester City, could start between the sticks for the visitors, while Ayoze Perez - on loan from Leicester City - will be hoping to feature.

Real Betis finished top of Group C in the last round of the Europa League, picking up 16 points from their six matches, finishing six points clear of Roma at the head of section.
