Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Young Boys on Wednesday saw interim boss Ralf Rangnick hand six United academy players their Champions League debut.
Charlie Savage (18), Zidane Iqbal (18), Teden Mengi (19), Anthony Elanga (19), Shola Shoretire (17), and 35-year-old Tom Heaton all made their debuts against the Swiss champions.
Elanga played the full 90 minutes and the Sweden Under-21 international was the only debutant to start the game.
The 19-year-old has made three Premier League appearances for The Red Devils, one of which came under Rangnick against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The other five featured at various stages in the second half, with goalkeeper Heaton replacing Dean Henderson between the sticks with little more than 20 minutes to go alongside Shoretire.
Heaton spent eight years at United as a youth player but subsequently left in 2010 without making a single first-team appearance.
The veteran goalkeeper made his return to Old Trafford this summer under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after a career which has seen him turn out for 11 different clubs.
Mengi was given the longest run-out of the substitute debutants, replacing England left-back Luke Shaw around the sixty-minute mark.
Charlie, son of former Wales international Robbie Savage, and Iqbal came on together with a few minutes remaining in normal time.
It was an emotional moment for Savage senior, who was given the opportunity to introduce his son on commentary by BT Sport commentator Darren Fletcher.
"It's quite appropriate at this time I step aside and allow you to bring your son on for his first-team debut for Manchester United," said Fletcher.
Savage then said: "Coming on for Manchester United is Charlie Savage for Juan Mata. Wow. I never believed I would say those words.

"What a proud day for my boy. All the hard work. What a day for me, his mother, his nana, his grandparents and most importantly for Charlie Savage.
"I'm so proud of him, Darren. It's an amazing moment for him."
Charlie, like Savage senior, is a central midfielder who signed his first professional deal with the club back in April.
After learning that his son had been named amongst the substitutes for the contest, Savage senior shared his thoughts on the matter ahead of kick-off.
"I'm starting to tear up," Savage told BT Sport.
"Charlie Savage has achieved so much in his young life. He has done it on his own with his work ethic - I've not opened any doors for him.
"My father, who is sadly not with us, took me all around the country and he would be proud looking down on his grandson.
"His nana watching from home will be in tears."
Mason Greenwood got the United crowd off their seats when he got himself on the end of a Shaw cross inside ten minutes.
But David Wagner's side denied United of all three points when Fabian Rieder's brilliant curling effort minutes before half-time left Henderson with no chance.
The result means United progress to the last-16 of Europe's premier club competition as Group F winners, while Young Boys are out after finishing bottom.
