Paris Saint-Germain advised Vinicius Junior against renewing his contract with Real Madrid and offered him a 40 million euro per season deal to join the Ligue 1 club once his current agreement expires.
The aforementioned figure is 12 times higher than his current salary and four times what he will be making when he extends his contract with Los Blancos.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez revealed on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito that Vinicius had received several offers but only contemplated to stay at the LaLiga Santander giants.
One of these approaches came from PSG, who made their first move a few summers ago, having been pushing for his signature since November 2021.
In their talks, PSG offered him a generous sign-on bonus, as well as a number of commercial opportunities in Qatar.
Perez and general director Jose Angel Sanchez appreciated the fact that they were informed of PSG's moves. Both men are fond of the Brazil international due to his skills, professionalism and personality.
Premier League clubs were also interested
PSG tried their best to arrange a meeting with Vinicius, but it never happened and the Champions League round of 16 tie against Los Blancos didn't help.
Despite his respect towards he club and gratitude for PSG's interest, Vinicius appeared to be willing to stay put. His connection with Real Madrid was too strong to be broken and the last contact was made back in March.
Vinicius always repeated to his agents, even when he experienced a drop in form, that he is not even willing to listen to offers. Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United also knocked on his door, but they all received the same negative response.
Vinicius' contract renewal is still on hold
Had Real Madrid made a contract extension offer that Vinicius would consider as unfair, potential suitors may have had a chance to have the Brazilian's ear.
However, Vinicius felt as though his contribution to the team was valued and the contract renewal is expected to be finalised after certain documents are sent and reviewed, before being signed by the two parties.
Real Madrid wanted to tie him down on a deal that would run until 2028, but they agreed that the new contract could potentially expire on 2026 or 2027.
Vinicius agent's proposal was for his client to receive 10m euros plus bonuses if he signs until 2026, or around 12m euros in the event his contract is extended until 2027. Real Madrid accepted both proposals and a deal will be reached soon.
