Osimhen climbs into stands to apologise to fan after wayward shot hits her in face

Victor Osimhen waded through fans to apologise to a Spezia supporter in the stands after his wayward shot in the warm-up struck her in the face.

The Napoli striker climbed through the crowd at the Stadio Alberto Picco where he proceed to hug the young woman.

A video that has went viral on social media has shown the 24-year-old clambering through the Spezia end as supporters clapped him as he made his way to the fan.

Other supporters tried to take a selfie with the in-form centre-forward as he made his way back to the pitch.

And while Osimhen didn't haven his shooting boots on prior to the game, he certainly did in Sunday's 3-0 victory.

The Nigeria international scored two second half goals to extend Napoli's lead at the top of the Serie A table to 16 points.

Osimhen revealed after the match how he felt 'so sorry' after hitting the woman in the face.

Quoted by Football Italia, he said: "I was making the practice shot, I shot over the goal and there was a lady in the middle of the fans.

"I think she was looking at her phone, the ball hit her in the face and I felt so sorry, as I didn't mean to do that.

"I had to show my appreciation and say sorry for that."

Osimhen's double brought up 14 top-flight goals of the season as he leads the scoring charts in the Italian top-flight.

His stunning form has seen him catch the eye of Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of a potential summer transfer.

According to the Mirror, the Premier League giants are locked in a battle to sign him.

United are in the market for a new striker as they look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, with loan signing Wout Weghorst to go back to Burnley at the end of the campaign.

As for Chelsea, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fallen out of favour under Graham Potter, while Kai Havertz has struggled for consistency when tasked with leading the line.

It has been said that Blues owner Todd Boehly is prepared to pay whatever it takes to sign Osimhen, who has been valued at £89million.

Chelsea raided Napoli last summer to bring centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge in a £34m deal.
