Marseille stars "fed up" with Guendouzi as Arsenal problems repeat themselves

Matteo Guendouzi's temperament is causing unwanted headlines once again as the 22-year-old midfielder sparked a very public spat with Marseille teammate Gerson.

During the recent 3-2 home defeat by Lens, Guendouzi was seen sprinting back to his own penalty area to lambast the efforts of Brazilian midfielder Gerson.

Not one to stand there and take it, Gerson had to be restrained by his other teammates as he tried to make his point clear to Guendouzi - who scurried from the scene as quickly as he arrived.

While Guendouzi has enjoyed a decent enough start to life under Marseille manager Jorge Sampaoli in terms of performance his attitude is clearly beginning to cause issues once again.

Marseille's solid start to the season has hit the buffers in recent weeks, winning one from their last four - as reports surrounding Guendouzi's popularity in the dressing room emerge.

According to OM Talk Show for Le Phoceen, via Sport Witness, Gerson is not the only Marseille star coming to the end of their tether with Guendouzi.

The former Lorient star is allegedly guilty of blaming others, while making his feelings clear if someone else takes a bad touch or makes a bad pass in training.

Attitude problems have followed Guendouzi throughout his career, despite displaying clear talent - it is a testament to his character that the majority of Arsenal fans were happy to see the back of the midfielder.

Marseille boss Sampaoli is rumoured to be willing to put up with Guendouzi's behaviour for now, but if things sour further it could mark the end of another opportunity due to attitude problems.

Guendouzi should take heed from his Arsenal exile and acknowledge clubs will not stand for it for much longer.
