The 18-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Palmeiras, but that has not stopped him from attracting attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs.
The forward has evidently impressed for Palmeiras' Under-20 side, leading to comparisons with his compatriot Endrick.
In December 2022, Real Madrid reached an agreement to sign Endrick from Palmeiras for a reported £51m fee when he turns 18 in July 2024.
While Endrick is set to move to Europe in the summer, there is a possibility he could be closely followed by his Palmeiras teammate.
According to AS, Manchester United are among the clubs that are keeping tabs on the Brazilian's progress with Abel Ferreira's side.
The highly-rated prospect is also said to be attracting interest from La Liga champions Barcelona and Italian giants Juventus.
Palmeiras allegedly turned down a bid for Thalys from an Italian club in the January transfer window, but the report claims that the offer did not come from Massimiliano Allegri's side.
With Thalys under contract until December 2026, Palmeiras reportedly view him as a player who could be key for the club in the medium term.
Although he has yet to play for the senior side, Thalys has been working in training with the first-team set-up at Palmeiras.
There is an expectation that he will be given a chance to play in the first team in the near future, as Palmeiras weigh up the best path for his development.
The left-footed attacker can play in a number of positions, including as an advanced midfielder, a winger and a centre-forward.
Thalys has enjoyed success in the current edition of the Copinha, having scored three goals in five appearances for Palmeiras' Under-20 side.
