Manchester United's current squad is now undeniably the strongest it has been in years as they look to end their four-year trophy drought, their wait for a Premier League title dating back even longer.
United's last piece of silverware came in the form of the 2017 Europa League, won by current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's predecessor Jose Mourinho.
Solskjaer, meanwhile, is desperate to get his hands on a trophy of any kind but thankfully for both him and the Old Trafford faithful, his current crop of stars are more than capable.
Finishing the league season in second last time out represented a marked improvement regardless of whether or not they ended up 12 points adrift from eventual champions and local rivals Manchester City.

However, given the transfer window the Red Devils have enjoyed - expectations have shifted, silverware is now essential for Solskjaer and his side.
Long-term target Jadon Sancho was finally secured from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund to the tune of £73m, while former Real Madrid defensive stalwart Raphael Varane was also enticed to Old Trafford, costing £45m - a bargain considering the Frenchman's experience and honours haul.
Considering the profiles of both Sancho and Varane, it is hard to believe that news of their arrivals was dwarfed by another new signing - but when that new addition is Cristiano Ronaldo, the rest pale in comparison.
After twelve years away from the club, in which his trophy haul includes four Champions Leagues and four Ballon D'ors, Ronaldo returns to Old Trafford to likely retire at the club where he made his name.
Though morale is high after securing arguably the club's greatest ever player for just £20m from Juventus, there remains work to be done before the window closes at 11pm tonight.
The main focus is likely to be on outgoings, as the Old Trafford hierarchy try and shift at least two attackers off the wage books while there is still time.
Wide-man Daniel James is on the cusp of a move to Leeds United, the Welshman struggling to live up to the hype during his two years at United.

Remarkably, considering James scored just three goals in 15 league appearances last season, United are expected to fetch as much as £30m for him from those over at Elland Road.
Though Anthony Martial has been touted with a move away from United for much of the summer, it appears that with just hours of the window to go Jesse Lingard remains the more likely of the two to call time on his stay at the club.
Lingard enjoyed a stellar loan stint with West Ham during the latter half of last season and forced his way back into the international fold after his spell at the London stadium.
The 28-year-old has entered the last year of his contract and has fallen further down the pecking order in the wake of Ronaldo's return.

Should United shift either one of James or Lingard before 11pm tonight, there may be room to secure another midfielder - a profile they desperately need, as highlighted during Sunday's trip to Wolves.
Both Ruben Neves and Declan Rice remain the most likely candidates, though both would cost the Red Devils a hefty fee given how late in the day any potential approach would come.
According to Sky Bet, Portugal international Neves is currently 2/1 to become a United player before the transfer window closes, suggesting a move could still go through.
Rice is less likely according to the same bookmakers at 3/1, though United are deemed more likely to secure the signature of the West Ham favourite than Chelsea, Rice's boyhood club.
