Hertha's unbeaten start under new head coach Tayfun Korkut was ended at the hands of Mainz in midweek. After drawing with VfB Stuttgart and beating Arminia Bielefeld, the Old Lady succumbed to a comprehensive 4-0 loss that leaves them looking nervously over their shoulders at the drop zone, only a point clear of the relegation play-off spot. Korkut was coy on top scorer Stevan Jovetic's condition after the Montenegrin went off in the 31st minute against Mainz with a knock. Suat Serdar was also withdrawn in the second half, meaning Davie Selke and Myziane Maolida could start. A half-time substitute in that game, Kevin-Prince Boateng is another option in midfield, though he hasn't started a competitive match since 2 October.
Dortmund make the trip without suspended midfielder Jude Bellingham, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-0 win over Greuther Fürth on Wednesday. Either Mahmoud Dahoud or Emre Can will deputise for the 18-year-old, but left-back Raphael Guerreiro remains a doubt. Donyell Malen did his prospects of starting no harm at all with a goal from the bench in midweek. With five in his last six competitive games, the Dutchman is pushing to nudge out Thorgan Hazard in attack. Dortmund were already leading Fürth through two Haaland goals when Malen added the gloss. Haaland's now scored four times in as many league games since returning from injury - that's as many as he put away in one second-half blitz in last season's corresponding fixture.
