Fürth coach Stefan Leitl has Max Christiansen and Paul Seguin back in contention after their injury lay-offs for this game, in which the relegated hosts hope will go better than the last and so far only time they welcomed Dortmund to their place: in 2013, BVB ran out 6-1 winners. Dutch left-back Jetro Willems is suspended for Fürth after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Union Berlin, a fourth point in a six-game run in which Fürth have only lost twice. Gian-Luca Itter will line up on the left in Willems' absence.
Dortmund have tasted defeat in their last two Bundesliga outings - to champions Bayern Munich and, more surprisingly, struggling Bochum - to put their hopes of finishing as runners-up in jeopardy. Win on Matchday 33, and Marco Rose's men will be assured of ending the season in second place, but any other result and Bayer Leverkusen would have a chance of catching them with a five-point gap between the pair with 180 minutes left to play. Rose has an unhealthily long injury list to contend with, and may even be without Haaland, who missed training in midweek through illness. The Bundesliga's youngest ever goalscorer Youssoufa Moukoko could deputise, but Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - who made his full debut last time out - will be with the U19s for their crunch game with Schalke.
Match stats
Fürth's Rückrunde tally of 13 points is the club's best half-season in its Bundesliga history. They picked up nine and 12 respectively in 2012/13, and just five in this term's Hinrunde.
Fürth have conceded just four more goals (28) than Dortmund (24) in the second half of the season.
Fürth have now scored 26 goals, equalling their total from the whole of the 2012/13 campaign.
Dortmund have only ever once netted more times at this stage of a season. They currently boast 80 goals from 32 matches, two shy of the tally they had in 2019/20 when they set a club record of 84 goals in the season.
Haaland scored a hat-trick in the game against Bochum last time out to take his tally to 61 goals in 65 Bundesliga games. No player has ever reached the 60-goal barrier in so few Bundesliga games, and the 21-year-old is also the youngest man to reach the milestone.
Haaland is Dortmund's leading scorer with 21 goals - the third-highest individual tally in the division - while Branimir Hrgota has a team-high nine for Fürth.
