Giggs accused of affair with mystery cricketer's wife in ex's 'final goodbye'

Ryan Giggs' ex-girlfriend Kate Greville accused the former Manchester United footballer of flings with seven different women that she knew about in an email she wrote and intended to send to end their relationship.

A jury listened as the email, dubbed 'the final goodbye', was read out in court on Friday as Giggs, 48, stands trial accused of assaulting Greville, 37, and her sister Emma, as well as charges of controlling and coercive behaviour against Greville. Giggs denies all charges.

The letter read: "I know pretty much everything you have been doing with other women behind my back since the day I met you…

"My gut has always told me you couldn't be trusted, that you're a compulsive liar and a serial cheat… I always knew deep down but didn't believe it, I wanted to believe things you told me and I really loved you…

"You say the same things to me as to multiple women, I am not special, I'm the one you wouldn't let have a happy life without you. The other women have husbands, children, boyfriends… I stayed loyal and committed to you no matter what and what did I get from it? Nothing at all."

Giggs and Greville were in a relationship for six years and he has denied headbutting her at their home in Worthing on November 1, 2020.

Numerous text messages sent between the pair have been shared in court this week, as well as details of alleged incidents which are said to have occurred during their relationship.

In further passages read out, Greville named several women she alleges Giggs to have had an affair with, including a woman named Steph, married to an unknown cricketer.

"You underestimated my ability to find things out," the letter read. "I didn't want to know the truth but since Christmas I knew things did not add up…

"It was a classic case of me putting my head in the sand and wanting a future with you.

"You and Helen were in a full on proper relationship while you were sleeping with me. She met your kids, family and stayed in the Stafford with you, you went to Barcelona with her and told her you wanted to marry and have kids…..

"You and Zara were also in a full on relationship for a year before I came home and when I found out…. You got your guy from Harrods to send her shoes, clothes and dresses….

"I know about Natalie and Susie, all going on when you were seeing me and not to mention Kelly and the most recent incident with Zara.

"I know you were sending messages about sex and threesomes with Charlotte from Hotel Football….

"I knew when you forgot to pick me up and were with another woman…

"I knew all about Steph, she's married to that cricketer but you knew that…You were having sex on tour with her in Washington…

"Let's not forget about (redacted) who give me a smug smile every time I see her and now I know why, you were shagging her for ages…."

The letter continued: "You would deny it, attack me, make me feel bad for accusing you and tell me to leave blah blah blah… You'll never lie or cheat on me again or make me question myself…."

Ms Greville said she would take their dog, Mac, and that she had blocked Giggs "on everything and so have my friends and family".

Her email added: "I no longer have patience to deal with you arguments and lack or respect for me….

"It's sad you could never be honest with me about everything. I find it hard to accept I fell in love with a person who didn't exist.

"I will never come to terms with the face the last six years with you was a lie…

"You constantly tell me you want to be happy but us girls can tell when a man has been lying and cheating….

"A little bit of advice, if you want to be happy with someone don't lie and cheat…"

She ended the letter: "Goodbye Ryan, it's been extremely emotional. K x."
