It's that time of year again as traditionalist football fans from around England can look forward to the FA Cup third round.

This weekend sees the second round get underway and that means that some clubs are just 90 minutes away from a spot in the next stage.

The third round is when clubs from the Premier League and Championship enter the competition, meaning that a potential draw with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal could be on the cards.

Here's what you need to know ahead of the FA Cup third round draw.

FA Cup third round draw: Date and time

The draw for the FA Cup third round proper is set to take place on Monday, December 6 before the final second round tie between Boreham Wood and St Albans City.

It is set to begin at 7pm UK time.

Fixtures are set to be played on the weekend of Friday, January 7 to Monday, January 3.

Fans will be able to tune into the FA Cup third round draw on ITV from 7pm on Monday, December 6.

They'll also be able to keep track through the Emirates FA Cup social media channels on Twitter and Facebook.

FA Cup third round draw: Prize money

While it won't mean much to clubs at the top end of the pyramid a victory in the FA Cup third round can be lucrative for those in the lower leagues.

For those who conquer their third round opponent there will be a prize fund of £82,000.

Given the financial struggle of the COVID-19 pandemic, that sort of money could be a huge help for those at the lower end of the EFL or National League.
