Eintrach Frankfurt goalkeeper Trapp: Europa League trophy better than sex? I'm not sure about that!

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp says he still doesn't know if he agrees with club president Peter Fischer's assessment that a Europa League triumph is better than sex, after the shot-stopper proved the penalty shoot-out hero against Rangers in Seville.

Trapp steered the Bundesliga side to a 5-4 victory on spot-kicks following a 1-1 draw after extra-time, first denying Ryan Kent in the dying seconds before saving Aaron Ramsey's effort in the shootout.

His efforts will ensure local hero status for years to come in Frankfurt, but speaking afterwards, Trapp was still hesitant to say if the winning feeling was quite as good as carnal satisfaction too.

"I think the president said yesterday that [winning the Europa League] trophy is more beautiful than sex," Trapp said after the match. "I still don't know if I agree!

"So, those are beautiful things - both the trophy and sex!

"But yeah, I think that many things will happen over the next few days!"

What does Frankfurt's victory mean for Europe?

Trapp's heroics have not only rewarded his side with a piece of rare silverware, but ensures they head into the Champions League next term as part of a five-team Bundesliga contingent bent on delivering in Europe.

They will join Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig in the group stages of next year's tournament.

Rangers, despite defeat, could join them still, with the Scottish outfit having reached the third qualifying round with their second-place domestic finish.
