Di Maria's Man Utd hatred - team-mate admission, No.7 shirt, angry wife's claims

In the years after Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United, only 25 Premier League goals were scored by the players who took the No.7 shirt he vacated.

Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia, Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay, Alexis Sanchez, and most recently Edison Cavani all found the weight of the famous United shirt hard to carry.

It can be argued Cavani is the only man to do the shirt justice, scoring nine Premier League goals last season, equating for just under half of the total goals.

But the Uruguayan is set to hand the famous number back to Ronaldo, who will be eager to pick up where he left off.

However, Ronaldo's former teammate Di Maria savagely banished all mystique around the iconic number saying he didn't "give a f***" about the number.

"I didn't give a f*** about the Manchester United No.7," Di Maria was quoted telling TyC Sports in a wide-ranging interview.

"At first they talked to me a lot about it... it was just a shirt."

It is the latest scathing remark the Argentinean has aimed towards The Red Devils.

The former Real Madrid man was signed for United by previous manager Louis Van Gaal in a £59.7million deal.

Unfortunately, a home burglary at his house, combined with struggles to impose himself on the pitch saw him meant he never really showed what he was able to do.

After leaving to join PSG in a £45m deal in 2015, he has regained his form and his reputation.

Unsurprisingly, he does not look back at his time at Old Trafford with fond memories, and he never misses an opportunity to exemplify this hatred.

PSG teammate Marcin Bulka said last year the tricky winger said he has "no good memory of the time he spent there".

"In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, the channel quickly changes," he added.

He also had some furious words for former manager Van Gaal.

"I would score, assist, and the next day he would show me my misplaced passes," said the former Benfica winger.

"He displaced me from one day to the other, he didn't like players being more than him."

Perhaps the only person on planet earth more hateful towards The Red Devils is Di Maria's wife, Jorgelina Cardoso.

In an interview with Los Angeles de le Manana, Cardoso said she never wanted to move to England after she visited her friend Gianinna Maradona the former wife of Sergio Aguero.

"I remember Angel coming up and saying, 'an offer from Manchester United has come in. Maybe we'll be a little more financially secure,' said Cardoso.

"We fought about it. I told him, not a chance, he could go on his own. There was a lot of money involved, and afterwards, the Spanish were calling us money grabbers. And they were right!

"It was horrible! A s***hole, we went to the house and we were like 'see you later guys, we're out of here'. When we left, I said to him, 'Go to any country - except England'. Anyway, one year later and there we were in England."
