New Zealand international Meikayla Moore has gone down in history for unwanted reasons this week, having scored a hat-trick of own goals.
In action for her country against the United States in an international friendly, Moore scored three goals for the opposition before being taken off in the 40th minute.
Her first piece of misfortune came in the fifth minute, slicing a cross into her own net. A minute later she suffered the same fate, with a ball this time hitting her on the head and finding its way into her own goal.
The third came half an hour later, as she again mishit an attempted clearance to turn a cross past her own goalkeeper.
Five minutes later, she was substituted before the half time break to bring an end to her miserable afternoon.
