Five players have been kicked out from the Netherlands Under-19 squad after bringing several girls to their hotel.
Ajax trio Ar'jany Martha, Naci Unuvar and Rio Hillen, Feyenoord's Mimeirhel Benita and Paris Saint-Germain's Xavi Simons are the players in question.
According to De Telegraaf, Netherlands U19 boss Bert Konterman has sent home the five players after Martha and Benita called several girls to their hotel room, and they were soon joined by Simons, Hillen and Unuvar, who claimed that they heard loud music. The latter three say that they returned to their own room afterwards.
As this was a breach of COVID-19 protocols, the decision was made that all five involved should be sent back to their clubs.
All players therefore missed the Netherlands U19's 3-0 defeat to Italy U19's on Monday, September 6.
"Martha, Benita, Unuvar, Hillen and Simons have broken the team's bubble and therefore they have returned to their clubs," a spokesperson for the Dutch national team told De Telegraaf.
