However, this time, the midfielder, who had another fantastic season in east London last time out, may have been attempting to make the most of what could be his last pre-season at the club.
The Hammers man, who could be made captain next season after the retirement of Mark Noble, has been with the club ever since he was released by Chelsea in 2014.
However, talkSPORT understands there could be a 'gentleman's agreement' between the player and the club that this will be Rice's last year at the London Stadium.
That could see him return to Stamford Bridge and join Chelsea, who have held a long-standing interest in the England international, teaming up with boyhood pal Mason Mount.
If that is the case, this would be his final campaign in claret and blue - and it looks like Rice is going to make sure he enjoys it.
In a video posted by West Ham on their social media channels, Rice returns to pre-season training and runs into the gym, screaming 'woohoo' as he greets some members of the West Ham staff, who he may not see from next season onwards.
Rice is then seen taking a break from an undoubtedly gruelling training regime to show off his lyrical skills, rapping and MCing as new teammate Flynn Downes watches on.
Some have tipped the summer signing from Swansea to fill Rice's boots in the future - his smile, laugh and look to the camera was almost to ask, 'Do I have to do that too?'
If the West Ham star is to leave next year, it looks like Craig Dawson is one of the teammates Rice will miss the most.
'Big Daws!' Rice shouted as he spotted the towering centre-back, before proceeding to jump on his back.
The video ends with the centre midfielder finally putting in some hard work ahead of the new season, before he stated, 'It's good to be back, lads, it's good to be back'.
Admittedly, it doesn't necessarily look like a player who is desperate to leave anytime soon.
But, if he is to head for the exit next summer, Rice looks like he's keen to go out on a high after his eight-year stay with West Ham.
One thing's for sure, he's certainly not feeling Blue just yet.
