Pogba could face reunion with Man United as Juventus crash out of Champions League

Pogba is yet to even play a single minute since his return to the Serie A side after a rather acrimonious exit from Manchester United.

He left the Red Devils on a free transfer after running down his contract.

Now the 29-year-old is maybe on a collision course to meeting his former club next year.

Juve made an exit from the Champions League group stages as they lost a 4-3 thriller to Benfica on Tuesday night, a game that was bizarrely played without goal line technology.

It meant Benfica secured a place in the knockout stages, with the Italian side suffering their first group stage exit since 2013/14.

It was also the first time they had ever lost four group stage matches in a single season, with still one game left to play.

They will now drop down to the Europa League, unless Juve lose to PSG next week and Maccabi Haifa get a point against Benfica.

The Serie A giants will enter at the round of 32 stage, with the winners of the Europa League groups going straight through to the last 16.

The teams who end up second will face those Champions League teams who finish third in their groups.

As it stands, Manchester United are second in their group and are four points behind leaders Real Sociedad.

Those knockout stages will be played next year after the World Cup, when Pogba is certain to be back fit.

He needed surgery on a torn meniscus and has only recently returned to training.
