Wednesday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Hibernian vs. Hearts

Aberdeen vs. Motherwell (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Aberdeen will be looking to make it four wins in five matches when they face off against Motherwell at the Pittodrie Stadium on Wednesday evening.

On the other hand, the away side will be seeking to end a barren run of form which has seen them fail to win any of their last 15 matches across all competitions.

We say: Aberdeen 2-1 Motherwell

Motherwell have been lethargic in front of goal recently, but we can see them finding the back of the net here. We are also backing Aberdeen to come away with maximum points come the end of the 90 minutes.

Livingston vs. St Johnstone (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Livingston and St Johnstone take to the pitch for the last time in 2023 when they go head to head at the Almondvale Stadium in round 20 of the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

With their last victory coming all the way back in October, not only do the Lions look to end their winless run but also generate considerable momentum heading into the second half of the campaign.

We say: Livingston 1-0 St Johnstone

Livingston and St Johnstone will head into the game in search of a pick-me-up after an underwhelming first half of the season sees both sides scrambling for points in the bottom half of the table. The Lions' home advantage gives them a slight edge here and we fancy them seeing off Levein's men who have struggled on their travels so far.

Rangers vs. Ross County (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Rangers will look to continue their excellent run of results in the Scottish Premiership when they take on Ross County at the Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The hosts are back within striking distance of their rivals Celtic after their Christmas Eve triumph at Fir Park, while the visitors are third bottom and coming into this one following back-to-back defeats.

We say: Rangers 2-0 Ross County

The odds are firmly stacked in favour of the Gers here, and they will be looking for a ruthless performance with the Glasgow Derby within touching distance. Short and sweet - we are backing the hosts to claim a straightforward victory in this one.

St Mirren vs. Kilmarnock (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Gameweek 20 in the Scottish Premiership will see St Mirren taking on Kilmarnock in a top-half battle at The Smisa Stadium on Wednesday evening.

These two swapped positions in the league standings last weekend, with the hosts slipping to fifth while the visitors moved up to fourth with 27 points after 19 games and just one point ahead of their opponents.

We say: St Mirren 1-1 Kilmarnock

While St Mirren have seen a drop-off in performance lately, they have maintained a very good home record this season. The visitors, in contrast, have been good recently, but their away form has been far from impressive. This looks like a very even contest in the making, and we feel there will be nothing to split these sides at the final whistle.

Hibernian vs. Hearts (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Hibernian play host to Hearts in the Edinburgh derby with the opportunity to move within two points of their neighbours in the Scottish Premiership standings.

At a time when the home side sit in sixth position, the visitors to Easter Road occupy third as they bid to finish best of the rest.

We say: Hibernian 1-2 Hearts

With home advantage in their favour, Hibs will be confident about continuing their resurgence up the table. However, we are backing Hearts to edge a nervy contest, one which may end with the visitors throwing more caution to the wind in the closing stages.
