Tuesday's League Two predictions including Barrow vs. Stockport

Mansfield vs. Grimsby Town (Tuesday, 12.30pm)

Riding a three-match unbeaten run in League Two, Mansfield Town return to One Call Stadium in Nottinghamshire for a Boxing Day affair with Grimsby Town on Tuesday.

The Stags moved to within a point of Wrexham for third and an automatic promotion thanks to a 2-0 triumph at Sutton United, while the Mariners saw a six-match domestic unbeaten run end with a 2-1 defeat at home to Harrogate Town.

We say: Mansfield Town 1-0 Grimsby Town

The overall consistency and balance of Mansfield Town has us leaning towards them emerging victorious from what could be a close encounter.

Gillingham vs. Crawley (Tuesday, 1.00pm)

Round 24 of the 2023-24 League Two season sees Gillingham and Crawley Town go head-to-head against each other on Tuesday afternoon.

Neither team came out on top in their respective last outings, and they will be looking to return to winning ways at the Priestfield Stadium.

We say: Gillingham 1-0 Crawley Town

Goals have been hard to come by in this fixture of late, and we can see Tuesday's clash following suit. That said, we are backing Gillingham to get the better of their visitors and carry the day.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Sutton (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

AFC Wimbledon begin a two-game stretch at home in League Two by welcoming last-place Sutton United to Plough Lane on Tuesday.

On Friday, the Wombles held onto a 2-1 triumph over Crawley Town, maintaining the final playoff spot in seventh place, while the Us fell nine points below the relegation line, losing 2-0 at home to Mansfield Town.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 2-0 Sutton United

They defended better over the weekend, but Sutton United have yet to show much when in possession, and we do not believe their quality in front of goal will drastically improve by Tuesday.

Hanging back could work for a while against Wimbledon, but we expect the home side to break through eventually, and one might be all it takes to defeat a Sutton side where morale is understandably low at the moment.

Barrow vs. Stockport (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Barrow will be looking to make it three victories on the bounce when they entertain the challenge of Stockport County on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the away side make the journey to Holker Street aiming to continue their recent upturn in form, which has seen them win back to back matches for the first time in over a month.

We say: Barrow 1-2 Stockport County

With the two best teams in the division go head-to-head, we are anticipating an open and end to end affair. That said, we fancy the visitors to emerge victorious in the end, albeit by only a narrow margin.

Bradford vs. Morecambe (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Recording a seventh straight win will be the target for Bradford City when they welcome Morecambe to Valley Parade on Tuesday afternoon in round 24 of the 2023-24 League Two season.

The away side, on the other hand, will be looking to hit a consistent run of form having blown hot and cold over the last couple of weeks.

We say: Bradford City 2-1 Morecambe

Bradford are on a better run of results coming into this one and coupled with the added advantage of playing on home turf, we are backing them to just about get the job done come the end of the 90 minutes.

Harrogate vs. Accrington (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

The latest round of games in the 2023-24 League Two campaign sees Harrogate Town welcome Accrington Stanley to EnviroVent Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Both teams head into this one off the back of respective victories last time out, and they will be looking to pick up where they left off.

Harrogate have been far from convincing on home turf, but Accrington have also struggled on their travels this term. We are backing a share of the spoils with honours even at the sound of the final whistle.

MK Dons vs. Colchester (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Colchester United are in action on Boxing Day when they journey to Stadium MK to go head to head with MK Dons in round 24 of League Two.

The Eagles moved seven points clear of the relegation zone with a hard-fought victory over Salford City at the weekend and will look to pick up successive wins for just the second time this season.

We say: MK Dons 2-0 Colchester United

Buoyed by their victory over Salford, Colchester will head into the Boxing Day clash with renewed belief as they look to pull clear of the danger zone. However, they take on an opposing side who are unbeaten in each of their last five League Two home games. MK Dons are currently firing on all cylinders in the league and we fancy them to claim all three points in front of their home supporters.

Newport vs. Forest Green (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Newport County will end the year with back-to-back League Two fixtures at Rodney Parade, beginning on Tuesday when they host Forest Green Rovers.

On Saturday, Newport dropped to 17th in the table, losing 2-0 at Wrexham, while the Green remain in the relegation zone, sitting 23rd after playing to a 0-0 draw with Gillingham.

We say: Newport County 1-0 Forest Green Rovers

Neither side have a ton of creativity or imagination, but Forest Green have a lot less quality in the attacking third, and we believe Newport will eventually wear them down and win.

Notts County vs. Doncaster (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Two sides who could do well with a win go head to head on Boxing Day as Notts County play host to Doncaster Rovers at Meadow Lane in round 24 of League One.

The Magpies, who cruised to a comfortable 3-1 victory when both teams faced off in August's reverse fixture, will look to complete the double over the visitors and snap their losing streak.

Notts County and Doncaster Rovers have had a contrasting first half of the season, with Rovers scrambling for points at the bottom end of the table. While Williams's men have suffered a drop-off in form in recent weeks, they boast the firepower needed to turn things around against Tuesday's visitors and we are tipping them to come out on top.

Salford City vs. Tranmere (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Struggling Salford City and Tranmere Rovers are separated by a point in the League Two table heading into Boxing Day's meeting at Moor Lane.

The home side go into gameweek 24 without a win in two months, while their opponents have secured important points recently to move ahead of Tuesday's hosts.

Over the weekend, the Robins squandered a 1-0 half-time advantage, losing 2-1 to Tranmere Rovers, dropping to 13th in the table, while the other Robins of Wrexham came away with a 2-0 triumph versus Newport County, keeping them in third place, a point above Mansfield Town.

Although Wrexham have not been quite as sharp in the attacking third at home, they are going up against a side struggling to get back into form, and we believe the counter-pressing of the visitors will be able to create the opening they need to claim all three points.

Walsall vs. Crewe (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Walsall host Crewe Alexandra in League Two action at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on Boxing Day, keen to return to winning ways.

The gameweek 24 meeting brings the promotion outsiders face to face against a wobbling playoff contender.

Both sides could play out an entertaining draw at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on Boxing Day, a result that keeps Crewe clinging on to their top seven spot.
