Spurs and Burnley affected by Storm Eunice as record-breaking winds wreak havoc

The UK has been hit by 120mph winds, potentially the biggest ever recorded, causing mass disruption across the country.

Travel is one of the areas worst affected, with Spurs and the Clarets both seeing flights cancelled on Friday.

Tottenham travel up to Manchester City, while Burnley are on the south coast to face Brighton - leaving both clubs with long-haul bus journeys to deal with on Friday.

Meanwhile, a number of sporting events have been called off due to the weather, including Exeter's League Two clash against Barrow.

Dunfermline's Scottish Championship clash against Partick Thistle on Friday night was also postponed, along with the Rugby Championship match between Cardiff and Zebre.

Race meetings at Fakenham, Lingfield and Southwell were all cancelled, with the Met Office issuing rare red warnings due to possibly the worst storm in a generation.

There is no uncertainty ahead of Lawrence Okolie's fight with Michael Cieslak next week with damage to the O2 Arena.

The event space is also due to host Cage Warriors 134 and UFC London in the coming weeks.
