Mikel Arteta found presence of Amazon cameras "demanding" during Arsenal season

Arsenal's Amazon documentary will be broadcast to viewers in early August and Mikel Arteta has reflected on being filmed throughout the season as the Gunners missed out on Champions League football Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta has admitted that the presence of the Amazon cameras were "demanding" after Arsenal were filmed throughout the 2021/22 campaign.

The "All or Nothing" documentary will be released to screens on August 4 - one day before the Gunners' Premier League opener against Crystal Palace. It is their first competitive game since missing out on a top-four place on the final day of last season as Tottenham Hotspur pipped them to a Champions League spot.

Arsenal looked as though they were going to qualify for the top tier of European football, but back-to-back defeats on the road against Spurs and Newcastle damaged their hopes of finishing in fourth. This was also the first season in more than two decades that they had not competed in Europe - with the Gunners playing in only three competitions including the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

When asked how it felt not have the Amazon cameras around throughout the campaign, Arteta told reporters: "It is much better to have you here! Honestly, it was challenging but as well I think it was an incredible experience personally, for the club and everybody can see the reality without any boundaries about how it works on a daily basis at the club.

"On a personal level obviously it was really demanding because you are on camera for 24/7. You tend to forget about it. So when they talk about Big Brother houses and people can do certain things, it is true because I have experience that you forget about the cameras.

"Probably in the documentary you will see, that I don't think that now unfortunately. Now probably if we are going to have a camera there, I would not do it. But they are done."

Where will Arsenal finish next season? Let us know in the comments below!

Sources told ESPN that the Gunners will receive £11million to become the latest subject of their series after Tottenham Hotspur were shown last season. Pushed on whether he was allowed to see anything before it is published, Arteta added: "[Head of Media] Mark [Gonnella] was. I haven't seen anything. I think I'm the only person at a senior level that hasn't seen it. [If there are issues] it will be my blame because I did it - or someone else did it!"

Arsenal spent Sunday flying from Baltimore to Orlando as they continue their tour of the United States. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka earned the Gunners a 2-0 win over Everton in their most recent friendly, after previously beating Bundesliga 2 side Nurnberg and Ipswich Town.

Arteta's side face Orlando City on Thursday, before taking on Chelsea in their final pre-season game in the US. Their final game of pre-season is in the Emirates Cup against Sevilla on July 30.
