Senegal await the winner between Cameroon and Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations final after they put on a late show against Burkina Faso on Wednesday to win the week's first semi-final.
Hosts Cameroon play Mohamed Salah's Egypt in their semi-final on Thursday, with the latter having surprised many by making it this far. Now they'll hope to go one step further and have Salah come up against Liverpool teammate Mane in Sunday's final.
Things started cagily on Wednesday between Burkina Faso and Senegal, as the tournament as a whole had. Both sides were very evenly matched, though the Lions of Teranga had the better of the chances and Mane was excellent throughout.
Senegal thought they had been given a first-half penalty with just over half an hour played, but VAR intervened and the decision was overturned.
All of the goals came in the final quarter of the game. Abdou Diallo put the Lions of Teranga ahead with 70 minutes on the clock and Idrissa Gueye soon doubled their lead.
Blati Toure briefly restored Burkina Faso's hope in the last 10 minutes, but Mane got the goal his performance deserved with three minutes left to confirm Senegal's place in the final.
The final will kick off at 20:00 CET on Sunday evening, and Senegal will be hoping to win their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title.
