Kostic notched his third league goal of the season as Frankfurt brought up their second Bundesliga win last weekend in Freiburg. Martin Hinteregger missed both those games due to a foot problem but is hopeful of a return as Oliver Glasner's side seek maximum points at home for the first time this season, even if the Eagles have only been brought down to Earth by a defeat once at Deutsche Bank Park in 2021/22. Makoto Hasebe or Stefan Ilsanker could deputise if Hinteregger doesn't make it.

After recovering from foot and thigh injuries, Kruse returned to the starting XI to help Union to a derby win over Hertha last time out to give Urs Fischer's men a fourth victory in a seven-game run in which they have lost only once. Christopher Trimmel and Cedric Teuchert should both return after missing Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League trip to Israel through suspension, while Paul Jaeckel — laid low recently by illness — could also be an option. Julian Ryerson scored the only goal of the game at Maccabi Haifa that leaves Die Eisernen in with a chance of progression to the knockout stage but had to go off with a knock. Fischer is hopeful the full-back will be fit, but will certainly make way for captain and derby hero Trimmel in any case.
