Ansu Fati's house 'robbed' while Barcelona star watched Xavi's first match

Ansu Fati was at the Camp Nou to watch his Barcelona teammates beat rivals Espanyol 1-0 in their first match under new manager Xavi while his house was allegedly robbed

Teenage Barcelona star Ansu Fati had his house broken into and robbed while he watched Xavi Hernandez 's first match as manager at the Camp Nou, it has been claimed.

The alleged incident took place on Saturday night as the Blaugrana narrowly beat city rivals Espanyol 1-0, with an injured Fati enjoying the La Liga win from the stands.

According to La Vanguardia, via Sport, a group of thieves broke into the 19-year-old home in Sant Cugat, a town near Barcelona.

The report outlines that the assailants entered the house whilst some of Fati's family were downstairs. After calling the police, the responding officers are said to have found no one there.

The Barca starlet has apparently claimed that he was robbed of money, watches and other jewellery.

Fati was forced to watch from the sidelines due to sustaining a hamstring injury in Barcelona's 3-3 draw with Celta Vigo before the international break.

The young Spain international, born in Guinea-Bissau, had only recovered from a long-term knee injury in September which had kept him out for almost a year.

But Xavi and co got the job done without their new No.10, although it was no easy feat.

A controversial penalty, which was scored by Memphis Depay, was the difference in front of 74,418 fans, almost double what they had managed 20 days earlier for a home game.

Xavi, who returned to his beloved club from Qatari side Al-Sadd this month, was pleased his his side's performance and noted that the Blaugrana have room for improvement.

"I feel like we suffered and it's clear it was a very complicated derby," the 41-year-old explained.

"They are a very good team, very organised and it's tough to break them down.

"We really did struggle, it's still early days and there are things we can improve on.

"I'm happy with the attitude but they did have some clear cut chances."

Xavi was also quizzed about reports that striker Sergio Aguero has been forced to retire from football because of a heart condition.

The Manchester City legend came off before half-time in Barca's draw with Alaves in October due to difficulty breathing.

But Xavi quashed the speculation on Aguero's future, stating: "I don't know where it's come from.

"I spoke to him and he's calm. I told him he can come when he wants. It's a medical issue. We have to wait."

Now Xavi's men welcome Benfica on Tuesday, having been beaten 3-0 by the Portuguese outfit in the reverse fixture to mark one of former manager Ronald Koeman 's lowest ebbs as boss.

It begins a tough run of fixtures for the Catalan giants, facing Villarreal, Real Betis and Bayern Munich in their proceeding three games which Fati could be available for.
